Jonathan Ulrich

CEO/Owner

Jonathan Ulrich resides in Cleburne, TX and has over 12 years experience in a second generation company. Jonathan serves as President of Ulrich Barn Builders, LLC. Ulrich Barn Builders is a storage shed and log cabin manufacturing company and he also serves as President of Ulrich Barn Rentals, LLC.  Jonathan built his first shed at age 8 and has worked through all positions in the company, giving him an invaluable experience. Since he was 16 he has worked full time in the family business and started in sales where he sold 523 storage sheds his first year.

Prior to serving as President he served as Vice President for over 6 years.  Jonathan has recruited a management team who have over 160 years combined experience in the backyard products industry. Jonathan was born as a missionary kid while his parents served in Costa Rica and later met the love of his life Raquel to whom he is now married and together have 4 children. Jonathan is fluent in English and Spanish and has extensively traveled Central and South America. His hobbies are fishing, golf and of course, his beautiful kids!

Jonathan is passionate about Servant-Leadership and growing the organization with biblically based leadership principles. His life was greatly influenced by Zig Ziglar at a young age and adopted the mantra, “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.

Chris Pendergrass

President

Chris Pendergrass is an executive with 20-years in manufacturing and 10-years of full P&L responsibility, leading family owned manufacturing businesses through double digit growth, lean driven cost reductions and cultural/leadership transitions. Chris joined the Ulrich team as president of Ulrich Barn Builders, LLC in the summer of 2019 to support the continued growth of Ulrich.

“I was trying to get a job at a bar….,” is his response to the common question, “how did you get into manufacturing?” While interviewing at a pub in his college town, Chris stumbled into an internship with Presco, family owned plastics company. Presco’s owner Waymon McMackin, took Chris under his wing and in his unorthodox way, taught him about business, leading people, building a company culture and life in general. Ten years later, Chris became president of Presco and owes much of his success and who he is today, to his mentor of 17 years.

In 2015, Chris moved from Texas to join Vanguard Soap as president of the third-generation family business in Memphis, Tennessee.

Real world experience along with an education including a BA in Chemistry from Austin College, a BS in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a MBA from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, gives Chris the foundation to effectively lead and grow Ulrich into the future.

In his personal time, Chris is active in the Young Presidents’ Organization, his church, and various community organizations. He loves playing golf, but he and his wife spend most of their time keeping up with their two sons.

Ken Hensley

Interim CFO

In addition to over 20 years of experience in major publicly traded manufacturing and construction materials companies, mostly in senior finance leadership positions, he has worked in corporate finance with a major Texas bank holding company, public accounting and consulting.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a finance concentration from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University. Ken is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Ken lives in Dallas with his wife of 35 years. He is the father of two adult sons and is a charter member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church.

Denny Maunder

CFO

Denny is our Chief Financial Officer. Denny enjoys helping companies grow, particularly small family-owned businesses. Denny joined us about two years ago; first as a consultant and now as a full- time member of the team. When he is not at work, Denny enjoys spending time with his family and supports his church by participating in and leading a number of ministries.

David Aspinall

Chief Revenue Officer

David is Chief Revenue Officer of Ulrich Barn Builders, LLC and is responsible for Sales and Marketing. David has held executive sales leadership roles in the Fortune 100 including serving as President of AT&T Global Services Canada, Regional President at Sprint Business and CEO of Sales Enablement Partners, LLC. David has been instrumental in helping organizations design and execute new growth strategies. He is passionate about aligning the growth functions – sales, customer success, marketing, product, and pricing.

David is an active member of Young Presidents Organization and has an MBA from Texas Christian University. He enjoys mentoring young entrepreneurs and helping launch new businesses when he is not watching a Manchester United games or getting beat on the Golf Course by his 13 year old son.

Verlin Yoder

VP of Technology

You might say that Verlin was born into the construction industry. When he wasn’t helping on the farm he stayed busy in construction, building his first shed after school hours when he was only 9 years old. Along with his five brothers and three sisters his family moved a lot, between several states and Costa Rica. At 21 he decided to leave his family and head to where he heard everything was bigger – Texas. His passion for quality and excellence led him to join Ulrich in 2009.

Verlin’s critical thinking and left brain personality helped him rise through the ranks to his current position as Vice President of Finance. When he is not watching the bottom line Verlin spends his time enjoying the outdoors, from hunting and fishing to cycling, and most recently completing the Cowtown Marathon.

Eugene Ulrich

VP of Marketing

Eugene was born & raised in Costa Rica by missionary parents from Illinois. He’s a Mennonite of 14 generations with a passion for diversity and multi-perspectives from which to see life and love God.

Married to his childhood sweetheart, Dad to 9 kids, and a first time grandpa.

He started building sheds in the frozen mud of an old abandoned sawmill in Kentucky. They ran hardwood slabs of wood through a homemade table saw and truly handcrafted these sheds from rough lumber.

His hobbies include Astronomy, building telescopes, studying Quantum Physics/Relativity, pretending Theology and is currently writing a space/time religious thriller.

He hates marketing except for those few ideas and products that are truly exceptional and when he finds them, he’s transformed into a passionate evangelist.

It’s what happens for him at Ulrich where we create exceptionally great products and he gets paid to help you find them.

As VP of Marketing at Ulrich, his passion is helping our excellent sales staff with the 3 Gets; Get Found, Get Chosen and Get promoted, so you the customer can dream, relax, and enjoy as we build for you!

Gail Knight

Senior Sales Coordinator

Gail Knight is the Senior Sales Coordinator. She is a lifelong Texas resident, born and raised in the DFW metroplex and currently resides in Burleson. Gail has been in the retail industry since 1993 and considers that a passion. Gail is a very active member of her church in Joshua, Texas. She and her husband serve on the Youth Committee and are the Sunday School Directors.

Carlos Castaneda

Customer Service Manager

Carlos Castaneda Resides in Fort Worth, he started his career with Ulrich Barns Builders in 2012 as the Logistics Coordinator and Customer Service Manager. He listens intently to people to gain knowledge, and grow as an individual. His two favorite Ulrich Core Values are the Golden Rule, to ensure each customer is treated as he would hope to be treated, and all of their issues are resolved. Family is also an important Core Value to him; he and his wife Alma have 3 children, Johan, Caleb, and Jocelyn. Carlos’ main Hobby is to spending time with family and creating memories with his children, he also loves Soccer, Swimming, and Listening to Audiobooks.

Currently, he serves as Ulrich’s Customer Service Manager. His goal is to Create Raving fans and provide the best customer service experience when a customer receives his or her dream barn or cabin. Carlos Enjoys Working for the best Shed Company Nation Wide and he feels Proud of the team and quality product that Represents.

Ed Young

Vice President of Operations

Ed is a retired Colonel, USMC with over 35 years of leadership experience and 20+ years of manufacturing experience in the manufactured housing, wood products and subsea oil and gas equipment industries. He is an experienced leadership trainer and mentor. He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and a Master’s Certificate in Contracting from George Washington University. He has a commitment to Continuous Improvement and will be constantly striving to make the manufacturing processes better and more efficient.

He and his wife Tina have been married for over 35 years and have one grown daughter, Audrey. His hobbies include golf, hunting, woodworking and Aggie sports.
